I found this a very informative, and instructive manual in the hobby, as practiced at the turn of the 20th century. It builds a great foundation on which to learn the technology of the steam engine. It is very basic in its approach, and it is some what hard to follow sometimes for those not familiar with the writing style, or terminology of that earlier period. Very much worth the effort as well as a lot of fun to read.Product details

Model EngineMaking In Theory and Practice J Pocock 9781298721044 Books Reviews
Very informative book for the steam enthusiast. Nice to add it to my personal steam library. Now I just need a boat.
I had hoped to fine complete sets of prints; not in this book. Loads of infornation, interesting reading.
Would help if you had some experience in steam models.
Very nice lots of great info AAA++
Good to read but most of the projects were made from castings that are no longer available. But the projects could be made from bar stock. Still a nice book for someone into model making.
ok
Great for model engine buff!
old books can be good, preserving trade secrets of old crafts, but this one is superficial.
